Who we are
Pennyplotter publishes educational calculators for loans, savings, retirement, and taxes at https://pennyplotter.com. The contact for privacy questions ishello@pennyplotter.com. The person responsible for the publication is Giuseppe Ilarda, the site owner, who writes and checks the calculators and explainers. The pages are educational estimates, not financial advice.
Calculator inputs
The numbers you type, such as a principal, a rate, a term, wages, or a balance, are processed in your browser to show a result. Some pages also draw a schedule. This version of the site has no account, no server-side calculator, and no form that transmits those numbers to Pennyplotter. If you leave the page, the numbers you typed are gone with it, except for whatever your own browser keeps in its history or cache.
Hosting
The site is intended to be hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes connection data, such as IP address and user agent, to deliver the pages and to protect the network. That processing is described inCloudflare's privacy policy.
Google Analytics
This build loads Google Analytics 4. The measurement id is G-JCBRC5MN1W. The page requests https://www.googletagmanager.com/gtag/js and a first-party file, /ga-config.js, which sends a page measurement to that property. Google describes how it handles information in theGoogle privacy policy. Calculator numbers you type are not sent as analytics events. The tag records a page view.
The tag uses Google Consent Mode. In the EEA, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, analytics storage and ad storage default to denied, so Google Analytics does not read or write cookies for those visits. Google can still receive a cookieless ping. Everywhere else, analytics storage and ad storage default to granted, and Google Analytics may set first-party cookies, including cookies whose names start with _ga. Ad personalization is denied in every region. The tag does not ask Google to build an ads profile from this visit. AdSense is not loaded.
You can opt out in either of these ways:
- Install Google'sAnalytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Google says the add-on is for visitors who want to prevent their data from being used by Google Analytics on sites that use gtag.js.
- Use "Don't use analytics cookies" on the notice at the bottom of the page. That stores a preference in this browser's local storage under the key pp-analytics-opt-out and tells the tag to deny analytics and ad storage. It applies in this browser only. It is not a cookie.
Advertising, which is not running
No advertising script is loaded. Google's AdSense program requires a privacy policy that describes advertising cookies before those cookies are used. That description is kept behind a switch in the site configuration and is not published while the switch is off. No ads.txt file is published either. The ads.txt slot stays off until a publisher id is set.
Consent
Google requires a certified consent-management platform, integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework, for personalized ads in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland. Google's own Privacy & messaging tool qualifies. The requirement is described inGoogle's AdSense consent guidance. The site has a slot for that script. The slot is off. No certified banner is loaded, and ad personalization stays denied. The notice on the page is not that platform. It explains the analytics defaults and offers the opt-out above.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If advertising or analytics is enabled, or if this policy otherwise changes, the date at the top of the page will be updated. Continued use of the site after that date is subject to the updated policy.
